@ Terminal 5, this lovely handsome sir is Mr. James Blake. His music could be classified as electronic, yet his voice is one of the most beautiful, soulful, genuine voices of the 21st century. A native to Great Britain, Mr. Blake most recently put out his newest album “Overgrown,” which has appealed more to the general public than his previous works (which are still phenomenal). Check him out here http://jamesblakemusic.com/

A great place to hear young music of today is at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. This photograph was taken at the Symphonic Band & New Music show, and it was quite impressive what a group of high school students were able to pull off. Symphonic Band played “Love” and the crowd was singing along and clapping to “Let it Be.” It was an incredibly sight to behold. New Music Ensemble played beautiful original pieces of many different styles. If not to see these two groups, LaGuardia features many other groups ranging from choruses to jazz bands. They also feature their drama department. Check it out! laguardiahs.org
Whoopsies
Sorry I haven’t posted in quite awhile! I just got home from camp and vacation! More photos to come!
sparklesmccheesy asked: music of new york=MONY hehe like mona u get it because u iz simone its funneh.
My parents used to call me Mony when i was little.

This gorgeous (incredibly calm) man remains nameless, but the interesting people on Bedford Ave aren’t the only interesting things out there. How many people play accordion these days again? Not many. Worth the $1.50 tip.

This sexy beast is a 1967 360/12 fireglo rickenbacker. Anyways, I found this and some other really hot guitars, basses, keyboards, drums, and pedals at The Main Drag Music Store out in Williamsburg (LOOKY YOU CAN SEE A FIREBIRD). Actually, they’re so friendly I almost cried. Not only did they put me alone in a room with this beautiful instrument, but they also brought me a 320$ pedal to mess around with. When does that happen to teenagers or anyone again? George Harrison had the same guitar, but a 12 stringer. He used it on a Hard Day’s Night during recording. GO BUY EVERYTHING EVER I’VE FALLEN IN LOVE

Sorry I haven’t posted in awhile! Its not like I haven’t been taking photos! If anyone has anything they want to send in, that’d be fantastic.

Bumped into the Hare Krishna’s down by Union Square. They are very nice. I think I might just take up that Sunday vegetarian dinner offer.

Brought to you straight from Sam Ash at 159 West 48th Street. Have you ever seen so many Gibson Hummingbirds? It almost made me cry. And look! A lefty! O.O
I only need one!!!!
As do I.

ANDES FUSION!
These two were so sweet they started playing an entirely new song just for me. He even gave me his card. Playing in the 42nd st. station isn’t all they’ve done! Andes Fusion has played for Hillary Clinton, with Simon & Garfunkel, for the United Nations, and more. They’re definitely an mix of the Andes! This funky group utilizes all kinds of interesting woodwind instruments from South America. Check them out for more! http://www.myspace.com/andesfusion
